Summer Band dates are as follows: 8/5-8/14 (no weekends)

We will meet in the MMS BH from 9-11:45 am (W,T,F,M,T,W,T,F)

The Schlitterbahn Trip is 8/14 with more details during summer band!

Last Week of School...

Congratulations for making it to the end of the year!

We will NOT need our instruments for the last week of school. If you haven't taken your instrument home, you will need to do so Monday after school.  There are NO private lessons the last week of school.  THEREFORE, EVERYONE MUST ENTER THROUGH THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL for the last week.  THANKS!

All students, bring your tickets on the last day of school for the raffle drawing we will have!!!

Beginning Band/Wind Ensemble Band TRIP!!

We'll see all qualifying students and chaperones bright and early Sat. (5/30) at 6 am in the band hall!  


Please make sure to bring some $$ to purchase lunch in the park.  

If you are a beginning band member, you will also need to purchase dinner in Waco.  
Beginning Band Members will return to MMS at 9 pm Sat. evening.

Wind Ensemble Members will return to MMS at 1 am Sun. morning.

Just a reminder to all students/families who will participate in the Beginner Band  and Wind Ensemble trip this weekend - PLEASE RETURN HEALTH FORMS AND TRANSPORTATION PERMISSION FORMS NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, MAY 28, 2009 (sooner would be better if possible, please).

Beginning Band Spring Concert!!

Wind Ensemble Trip

We're glad to say that we've been able to reschedule both our 6 Flags visit and Medieval Times dinner for May 30, 2009.  We will leave early that morning and return late that evening, so there will be no overnight aspect to the trip, but we think that it will be something that the kids will enjoy.  A  new trip packet will be coming home (and be posted here as well) on Monday 5/18 with details on the itinerary and refund options.  


Thanks for your patience while we work through all of these details.  There are a lot of "moving parts" with a trip like this, and we've finally been able to get them all to work together!

7/8th Grade Spring Concert

Many thanks!

Thanks to everyone who made Tuesday night such a special evening. I'm so proud of how all of the bands performed and am truly touched by your kindness, generosity and skill at keeping secrets!

Thanks too to everyone for their efforts on "Par for the Course."  I can't imagine a more perfect way to conclude this year than to celebrate together with music - thank you for sharing the concert with us and for sharing your children with me!

I feel very privileged to have been a part of the Murchison/Anderson community for the last 12 years and look forward to many great things to come.

Beginning Band Spring Concert!!

Please come join us for our final Beginning Band Concert of the year!  We will be performing on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in the MMS Large Gym at 7 pm.  We hope to see you there!


For Students:
Please wear your nicest clothes - no jeans, t-shirts, or flip-flops.  (ladies please wear tea-length if wearing dresses or skirts; gentlemen shirt and tie are very appropriate)

Beginning Band Dress Rehearsals

Beginning Band Dress Rehearsals are NEXT WEEK!!!  Today a flyer went home with the students regarding which dress rehearsal day to attend.  Please refer that that sheet for individual day assignments.  Both dress rehearsals will take place in the MMS BH.
